As a major early National Park, Mesa Verde
was the site of much effort of the Civilian Conservation Corps
during the depression years.

 

along with the construction of many buildings and trails
the CCC constructed dioramas of what was considered the life of the Mesa Verde residents

 

hunting large animals

 

 

extended family groups living in the shelter of a cliff alcove

 

pit houses and the above ground dwellings
